MasterChef duo Billy & Jack, finalists who met on the 2016 BBC cooking show, bring their sell-out Billy and Jack’s Supper Club to the top floor of Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall for Summertime 30th July – 28th August 2017.
This will be the first supper club to take up residence in Southbank Centre’s stunning St Paul’s Pavilion – the sixth-floor venue boasting floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Thames, Waterloo Bridge and the City of London.
Beginning on Sunday 30th July 2017 as part of the British Summertime weekend and in partnership with the fantastic Silent Pool Gin, Billy and Jack will create fun, artistic and inventive sharing plates that celebrate the familiar, much-loved flavours of summer, while showcasing the best seasonal produce available. Menu highlights include Salted Cornish Sardines with Heritage Tomatoes and Roasted Quinoa, Notting Hill Carnival inspired Jerk Hanger Steak and the boys’ cheeky tribute to Wall’s iconic Fab ice lolly.
Southbank holds a special place in Chef Jack Layer’s heart as he met his now fiancée there on their first date four years ago. “I’m particularly excited to be able to bring our food here. Summer is one of our favourite times of year to cook. There are so many amazing ingredients in season and there’s nothing we like more than to share good times with family, friends and colleagues over some delicious food and drink – with the added bonus of the iconic Southbank Centre views over London.” His fellow chef, Billy Wright backs this up with the succinct statement “Beautiful food, booze and a view of the Thames, what could be better. It’s going to be a great month.”
Over the weekend of 10-12 August 2017, Billy and Jack also have special guest hosts Alison, Lorna and Giovanna ‘Three Girls Cook’, Masterchef Finalists of 2017, taking over duties. During the final two weeks (14-28 August), guests will also have the opportunity to sample Jack’s famous Coriander Cheesecake, described by MasterChef judge John Torode as “breathtakingly brilliant” and widely considered the dish of the series.
