The Clumsies Bring Late Night Pop-Up to Pittabun

This Friday and Saturday, modern Greek street food restaurant Pittabun will be joining forces with fellow Athenians and multi-award winning cocktail bar, The Clumsies, to create a late-night menu of cocktails and pittabuns inspired by street eats in Greece.

For one weekend only the team will take over the downstairs at Pittabun to stir up a special menu created specifically for the popup. Cocktail mavens Nikos Bakoulis and Vasilis Kyritsis, Co-Owners of The Clumsies (currently ranked 6th in the world by World’s 50 Best Bars) will be on-hand to serve favourites from their menu in Athens alongside a selection of cocktails created to go hand-in-hand with Pittabun’s signature buns.

The special menu will see the duo serving up a Mediterranean Gimlet, made with London Dry Gin and Greek Salad Cordial (incorporating notes of tomato, red pepper, olive, caper and oregano to create an infusion reminiscent of the classic dish); and their Bun Sour, which blends white rum, lemon juice, salted honey and Angostura bitters, resulting in a salty but sweet tipple inspired by slow cooked, caramelised meats.

Also making the journey over to the UK will be their famous Aegean Negroni, inspired by the azure waters of the Aegean Sea. This award-winning cocktail is made with London Dry gin, house-made vermouth, fennel seeds and Diktamus – an aromatic aphrodisiac herb grown high in the mountains of Greece.

Alongside the drinks, Pittabun will showcase its modern take on traditional Greek flavours. Dishes include the Souvlaki Bun, Grilled Slow Cooked Pork Belly, House Tzatziki, Tomatoes, Red Onion, Fresh Mint & Parsley; Lamb Bun with Grilled Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder, Feta Cheese, Roasted Red Peppers, and Lemon-Oregano Sauce; and the Vegan Greecamole Bun, with Chunky Guacamole, Greek Salad Filling and Feta.

Andreas Labridis, Co-Founder of Pittabun says,

“We can’t wait to welcome our friends The Clumsies to Pittabun to really showcase how traditional Greek flavours can be adapted in so many creative ways. Us Greeks love a drink but food is also a huge part of any celebration with friends and family – we’re super excited to combine the two!”
