The Blues Kitchen Shoreditch launches new speakeasy bar, Moonshine Minnie’s

on

The team behind The Blues Kitchen are slated to launch Moonshine Minnie’s, a new speakeasy-style bar in Shoreditch, on 29th March.

Hidden in the basement of The Blues Kitchen, Moonshine Minnie’s is positioning itself as a soulful escape from the high-octane hustle and bustle of Shoreditch. Expect delicious drinks, soulful southern American bar food and a soundtrack of the best female Rhythm & Blues artists, all coming together to create an unassuming den of delights.

The décor will be a mix of genuine vintage heritage and modern day cool: Victorian tiling, a stained Yorkshire Church glass panelled ceiling, and feature walls clad in heavy rope (whose past saw them protecting battleships from canon fire during World War One) will juxtapose murals by Portuguese graffiti artist, Vhils.

The Blues Kitchen bar team has developed a menu of whiskey-focused cocktails including blues scene classics such as a Sazerac, a Scotch Manhattan and a Bourbon Sidecar. A House Drinks menu features a multitude of other cocktails for non-whiskey drinkers to enjoy.

The soundtrack at Moonshine Minnie’s has been curated by The Blues Kitchen’s radio host, Liam Hart, and celebrates the last 70 years of powerful female-fronted Rhythm & Blues artists including Etta James, Janice Joplin, Sister Rosetta and Koko Taylor.
