Michel Roux Jr to oversee The Wigmore, The Langham London Hotel’s new bar

Michel Roux Jr is set to oversee the food at The Wigmore, The Langham London Hotel’s new bar.

Slated to open this Summer, The Wigmore will take its cue from British nostalgia, aiming to capture the convivial spirit associated with traditional pubs of the past and tame it with luxury accents and continental prowess, so that it fits snugly between The Langham’s other offerings. As the hotel already houses the decidedly gourmet Roux at the Landau, it will certainly be interesting to see how The Wigmore’s hearty British fare of raised veal and ham pie, devilled lamb’s kidneys and paprika-glazed short rib with bone marrow crumb compares.

The design will evoke the building’s former banking heritage, combining original features with a touch of elegance and notable homages to Robert Harley, Baron of Wigmore, who the bar has been named after and whose coat of arms feature throughout.

Drinks will be curated by Artesian’s new team, headed by Dino Koletsas (previously of Trailer Happiness, Milk & Honey, and Crazy Bear) and will comprise superior wines on tap, cask ales and craft beers, together with cups of punch, house “hoptails” and a selection of London classic mixed drinks.
