What is Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS)?
Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) is an international members’ club offering the world’s widest collection of rare and exceptional single cask whiskies to discerning whisky lovers. Each of their whiskies is bottled from a single cask at natural strength without the addition of water or colouring, as has been the case since their launch in 1983!
Is this unusual? Oh my lordie, yes!
The whiskies you get to try through SMWS’s mail orders, brick-and-mortar clubs or bars, festivals and events, are unlike any you will have ever tried before or ever will again, as they are only a limited number of bottlings of each cask available. Prize T&Cs: You must be aged 18 or over to enter. Membership is for one person for the duration of one year from activation. Membership also includes one bottle of whisky, which will be selected by SMWS. Private tasting will take place at the Society’s Members’ Rooms at 19 Greville Street, London. It is subject to availability and must be booked in advance. Please note, the venue is open 12pm-11pm Monday – Friday, 12pm-9pm Saturday and closed on Sundays. Prize is non transferrable, and no cash alternative will be given.
