We at Sated are thrilled to announce that we are co-hosting the free-to-attend Stepney Summer Spirits & Beer Club with Boozers without Borders on 28th June.
Ever wanted to raise money for charity by drinking fantastic craft spirits, beers and summery cocktails on a farm, surrounded by goats and friendly faces? Of course you have, and if you haven’t, we’re sure you do now! On 28th June, we are teaming up with Boozers without Borders to bring you an evening of boozy goodness and street food, all for a couple of good causes, namely Help Refugees and the venue, Stepney City Farm.
Guests will be able to sip on specially crafted summer cocktails whilst chowing down on some BBQ favourites. The event will also see the launch of Boozer without Border’s first official beer, the 5.1% chocolate-y traditional London Stout ‘I Pub Crawled East London and all I got was this Lousy Stout’, brewed in collaboration with Beerblefish Brewing. The bar will also boast a range of the finest craft beers that money can buy, including a fresh shipment from Cloudwater Brew Co.
Boozers without Borders (or Soulards San Frontieres, if you’re fancy) is a fundraising initiative formed in 2016 by a little team of craft beer obsessives (Matt, Ian, Ruvani, and Whit) after a visit to The Jungle in Calais. Once at the camp and witnessing the plight of refugees first-hand, it became clear to the group that a lot more was needed than the initial assistance provided. This led them to start running events at venues around London, fusing their passion for craft beverages with their strong desire to help the hundred of thousands who have escaped war, persecution and famine in hopes of a better life for themselves and their families. Co-Founder of Boozers without Borders, Ian Gordon states
“By raising money for Help Refugees, we can help to keep these people safe and healthy until their legal status is resolved. Maybe one day we can share a pint with them in a better future. Until then, let’s raise a glass to their health.”
The Boozers have so far raised £6,500 for charity and are showing no signs of slowing down.
The event is free, with profits from the bar going to the two charities, but must be booked in advance via Eventbrite here.
